The Pittsburgh EMS Anniversary Committee was established to celebrate and honor the accomplishments of past and present Pittsburgh EMS professionals through community events and education, as well as supporting local and state EMS organizations.
Pittsburgh EMS is proud to be one of the pioneering leaders of Emergency Medical Services in the United States and across the world.
Throughout the past half century, the dedicated personnel of Pittsburgh Emergency Medical Services have responded to over 50,000 emergency calls each year in the City of Pittsburgh. We are honored to have impacted and saved countless lives - both residents and visitors of our beautiful city. Over the past five decades, Pittsburgh Emergency Medical Services has been recognized as one of the leading EMS agencies in the country, known for outstanding service, dedication and constant advancement in the field of prehospital medicine.
Monday, August 25th, 2025 is the exact 50th Anniversary of the first called handled by the City of Pittsburgh Emergency Medical Services!
